What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.

These tiny punctures are sufficient to stimulate the body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production.

Increased levels of new collagen and elastin restore firmness, smoothness and elasticity to the skin.

Which skin concerns are improved by boosting collagen production?

Increased elastin and collagen production provides numerous skin benefits. Our North Wales patients love how microneedling improves the appearance of skin affected by the following concerns:

  • Acne scars
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Large pore size
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven skin texture

Microneedling is suitable for most skin types.

What happens during a microneedling procedure at the clinic in North Wales

After cleansing and preparing your skin, Amanda will gently glide the microneedling device over the treatment area.

We use the Skinpen® or LUTRONIC GENIUS® RF Microneedling device, which allows for the precise targeting of areas of concern without affecting surrounding skin.

How long does a microneedling session last?

The whole procedure takes between 30 and 60 minutes.

Will I need any downtime?

Minimal downtime is required after microneedling treatment.

You may experience some redness or mild skin sensitivity after your microneedling, but Amanda will apply a soothing serum or mask to help reduce irritation.

Is the treatment painful?

All our North Wales patients receive a topical anaesthetic on the treatment area before microneedling begins.

In addition, Amanda and her team are highly experienced and know how to keep you relaxed and comfortable throughout your treatment.

Are other aesthetic treatments combined with collagen induction therapy at the North Wales clinic?

We often combine advanced skin boosters with microneedling to give you an even more radiant glow.

Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin Therapy (IPRF)

This advanced therapy uses the patient’s own blood to promote healthier skin with improved appearance and texture.

The natural growth factors and platelet-rich fibrin are isolated and injected into the treatment area, where they increase collagen production, boost cell turnover, and promote tissue repair.

The benefit of IPRF can be seen in smoother, firmer, more elastic skin with fewer lines and wrinkles.

By combining microneedling with IPRF, the results of both are maximised.

CALECIM®

CALECIM® also harnesses the power of growth factors to nourish and rejuvenate the skin.

CALECIM® is rich in growth factors and stem cell proteins that boost collagen and elastin levels, promote cell repair and stimulate skin regeneration.

This treatment is particularly effective for skin affected by acne scars, uneven texture, or fine lines and wrinkles, as it results in smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.

Combining CALECIM® with microneedling enhances results by allowing the treatment to penetrate deeper layers of the skin through tiny punctures.

Exosomes

Exosomes are minute sacs that contain a nourishing cocktail of growth factors and proteins that promote skin cell regeneration. They also have an anti-inflammatory effect that soothes irritated skin and supports speedy healing.

When used in conjunction with collagen-induction therapies like microneedling, exosomes can penetrate the skin and target deeper tissue layers, delivering stunning results. You can expect your skin to look more youthful with a smoother texture and improved elasticity.

How many sessions will I need?

Some of our North Wales patients see an improvement after one treatment, but we usually advise a short course of treatments for the best results.

Maintenance treatments may be necessary to preserve the skin benefits.

How much does skin rejuvenation with collagen induction cost?

Microneedling at our North Wales clinic costs from £250.
