Lip fillers, also known as lip augmentation or lip injections, are cosmetic procedures designed to enhance the volume, shape, and symmetry of the lips. The most common type of lip filler used is hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps to hydrate and add volume to the skin. During the procedure, Amanda applies a numbing cream to minimise discomfort. A dental block can also be used, this is where local anaesthetic is applied to the inside of the mouth to completely numb the area prior to the procedure to maximise comfort. Then, using a fine needle or cannula, the filler is injected strategically into various areas of the lips to achieve the desired shape and fullness.

Once the injections are completed, you may experience some temporary swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites, but these side effects typically subside within a few days. The results of lip fillers typically last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, depending on factors such as the type of filler used and metabolism. You may require touch-up treatments to maintain your desired lip volume over time.

Enhance and restore lost volume

Lip fillers cater to a wide range of people seeking to enhance the appearance of their lips. This can include those who naturally have thin or asymmetrical lips and desire more volume or better symmetry. Lip fillers offer a non-surgical solution for those looking to achieve plumper, more defined lips without undergoing surgery.

Additionally, as people age, they may experience a loss of volume in their lips, leading to a thinner appearance. Lip fillers can help address this issue by restoring lost volume and rejuvenating the lips, creating a more youthful and refreshed look.

Whether you desire subtle enhancement or a more dramatic transformation, lip fillers offer a customisable solution to address a variety of aesthetic concerns.

During the initial consultation, you'll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and desired outcomes. Amanda will take this time to thoroughly assess the areas you wish to have treated. She will then determine the most suitable dosage and technique for your lip fillers, ensuring a tailored approach that aligns with your goals.

Results from lip filler treatments are typically visible immediately after the procedure. However, there may be some initial swelling or bruising.

While lip filler treatments are generally safe, some potential side effects may occur. These can include temporary swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness at the injection site. It's essential for clients to discuss their medical history and any concerns with Amanda before undergoing treatment to mitigate risks.

After lip filler treatment, patients are advised to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and excessive sun exposure for at least 24 to 48 hours to minimise the risk of swelling or bruising. Additionally, applying cold compresses to the treated area can help reduce swelling.

The duration of lip filler results can vary depending on factors such as the type of filler used, individual metabolism, and lifestyle. In general, hyaluronic acid-based fillers commonly used for lip augmentation can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months. However, touch-up treatments may be necessary to maintain optimal results over time.
