Crepey neck skin refers to the thin, delicate, and loose appearance of the skin on the neck, resembling the texture of crepe paper. This condition is often characterised by fine lines, wrinkles, and a lack of firmness, contributing to an aged or sagging appearance. The skin on the neck is naturally thinner and less elastic than that on other parts of the body, making it more susceptible to the effects of ageing. Collagen and elastin, proteins responsible for skin elasticity and firmness, gradually diminish over time, leading to the development of crepey textured skin. Additionally, factors such as prolonged sun exposure, smoking, and genetics can exacerbate the problem, accelerating the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibres.

Over time, the skin undergoes various changes, including a decrease in collagen and elastin production. These proteins are essential for maintaining the skin’s structural integrity and suppleness. The diminishing levels of collagen and elastin result in reduced skin elasticity, leading to the formation of wrinkles and the characteristic crepey texture. Furthermore, factors like prolonged sun exposure contribute to photoaging, accelerating the breakdown of collagen fibres and causing premature aging of the neck skin.

Environmental and lifestyle factors play a key role in the development of crepey neck skin. Sun damage is a major contributor, as UV rays can break down collagen and elastin fibres in the skin. Additionally, habits such as smoking can accelerate the aging process. Tobacco smoke contains harmful chemicals that impair blood flow to the skin and hinder collagen production.

Amanda and her work team are all lovely, helpful and super knowledgeable on everything! I learnt so much on my first visit so far, about my skin health and what products to use to get my skin glowing again. The clinic is beautiful and smells divine as soon as you walk through the door 🙂 It was really easy to find and I love the ease of parking right In Front of the clinic too. I’m very happy with the time taken to explain my skin health and happy with the treatment that ive had so 😁. Lovely atmosphere ! Professional environment! The whole team is friendly and caring making sure that each client is well looked after ! You will always be treated with a smile and a cup of hot chocolate , tea or coffee😍 Amanda and Jacklyn are very knowledgeable and down to earth always happy to explain the treatments! I've been having monthly laser treatments with Amanda and can't recommend her highly enough.
